I’m Denis “Din” O’Sullivan—an Irish musician, photographer, filmmaker, writer and multimedia artist based in Vélez-Málaga, Spain and here are the highlights…
I began performing music at sixteen and have spent more than four decades exploring the connections between music, imagery, storytelling and technology. My work includes original music, photography, documentaries, music videos, live multimedia performances, festivals, websites and independent publishing.
Before digital creativity became central to my artistic work, I had an extensive career in information technology. Beginning in the late 1980s, I worked with PC systems, MS-DOS, RSTS/E, VMS and OpenVMS in banking, insurance, manufacturing and the pharmaceutical industry in Ireland and London. This technical background later became an important part of my creative independence.
In 2007, I founded Seeing Red Records—an online record label and music download store supporting Cork artists—and organised an early live internet broadcast from Cork’s Crane Lane Theatre.
My music videos Blue Moon Over Cork City and T.I.S. (Things I’ve Seen) were selected for the IndieCork Film Festivals in 2013 & 2014.
In 2015, I premiered Projections, a solo performance combining live music, film and photography.
In 2017, I released “The Denmus Collection” Data DVD
In 2023, I organised and directed Kenmare’s 26-day Scene on the Green festival, staging 67 performances for more than 5,000 people.
In 2024, I moved to Vélez-Málaga where I have been learning to play flamenco guitar.
My recent releases include “Din Pics”
a 207-page photo ebook featuring 321 images selected from 18 years of photography, the “444 Lifetime Membership” offer and I am currently developing Din City: an evolving interactive 3D world bringing together my music, films, photography, writing, archives and future creative work.
